Job Summary
The Assistant General Manager is a key member of the Troon International team, responsible for supporting the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the property. This role requires a high level of organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of all aspects of the club in the absence of the General Manager
- Support the hiring, development, and supervision of key management employees
- Produce daily reports related to rounds, sales, and other key performance indicators
- Assist in the coordination of banquets, weddings, and golf outings
- Provide exceptional customer service to arriving guests
- Assist in the reconciliation of cash and accounts receivable charges
- Oversee the care and maintenance of the property's physical assets and facilities
- Support the management of the Pro-Shop and Food & Beverage operation
- Develop and implement creative strategies to increase revenues
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager or other senior management
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in the golf and/or food & beverage industry
- Four-year college degree preferred
- Supervisory and staff development experience
- Proficient in Excel, Access, Word, and POS systems
- Working knowledge of club accounting
- Strong business aptitude and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons
Working Conditions
The Assistant General Manager will work in a fast-paced environment, often requiring long hours and extended periods of standing, walking, and lifting. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities is essential.
