Position: Substance Use Counselor at Illumination Foundation

Illumination Foundation (IF) is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on tackling the homelessness crisis in California through a range of essential services for those in need. With numerous facilities throughout the region, IF aims to break the cycle of homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform assessments related to substance use and create tailored treatment strategies
  • Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions for clients
  • Provide crisis intervention support as necessary
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive client care
  • Travel to various sites to provide coverage and assistance
  • Engage with community organizations to foster partnerships

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification in addiction counseling (such as CADC-1, CADC-II, LAADC, etc.)
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications
  • Experience with homeless individuals and those with co-occurring disorders
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
