Role Responsibilities:

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor plays a crucial role in facilitating patient recovery from opioid addiction. Counselors deliver compassionate care through both individual and group therapy sessions.

Key Duties Include:
  • Delivering empathetic guidance during individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Planning, overseeing, and documenting patient recovery processes.
  • Co-facilitating group or family therapy sessions as required.
  • Ensuring timely and clear documentation of patient care and treatment incidents.
  • Developing personalized treatment plans for each patient.
  • Conducting initial and follow-up assessments.
  • Assessing patient needs and determining necessary referrals to additional programs or facilities.
  • Planning aftercare for assigned patients as needed.
  • Providing crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Managing case responsibilities to ensure individualized care for patients.
  • Acting as a liaison between patients and referral sources as required.
Compensation for positions at Colton Comprehensive Treatment Center is determined by various factors, including location, role, skill set, and experience level.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required;
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in social or health services preferred;
  • Degree must be from an accredited institution.
  • Prior experience in addiction recovery or medication-assisted treatment environments is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Preferred Certification or License.
  • Must be obtained from a California-approved Counselor Certification Organization (CAADE, CADTP, or CCAPP); or
  • LMFT, LCSW, PhD, or PsyD.
