Job Description

This role is primarily responsible for creating accurate technical drawings, managing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), and ensuring meticulous documentation control within our organization.

The successful candidate will work closely with the sales team, engineers, product managers, and R&D team to understand design requirements and translate them into technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand design requirements and translate them into technical drawings.
  • Analyze user requirement specifications, technical documents, and materials to determine their impact on designs and provide technical recommendations.
  • Utilize CAD software proficiently to produce accurate and precise drawings.
  • Develop and maintain BoMs for a large number of products, ensuring all components and materials are accurately listed.
  • Coordinate with procurement and production teams to update BoMs based on design changes and product requirements.
  • Verify drawings and BoM accuracy and completeness to support manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Implement and manage change control processes for drawings, BoMs, and related documentation.
  • Track and document revisions, ensuring all changes are properly documented and communicated.
  • Assist in providing support to less experienced Engineer Designers.
  • Conduct quality checks on drawings and BoMs to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field and minimally 3 years of experience as drafter-BoM builder or,
  • HS Diploma or degree or certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field and minimum 10 years of experience as Drafter-BoM builder.
  • Proven experience as a Drafter or similar role, with a strong portfolio of technical drawings and designs
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) and familiarity with BoM management tools.
  • Experience with Visio preferred.
  • Experience Understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in change control procedures and documentation management.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiar with project management software.
  • Proficient in using ERP/MRP systems for BoM management.
  • Patient, tactful, diplomatic, and approachable.
  • Able to stay calm in challenging situations.
  • Keen sense of urgency and ability to deliver ahead of deadlines.
  • Meets productivity standards.
  • Must be self-motivated, amendable to a variety of work projects and work efficiently independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in BioPharma, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical or other ISO regulated industry is a plus.
