Research and Development Specialist

About the Role
Knightwerx is seeking a skilled Research and Development Specialist to join our innovative R&D team. As an experienced fabricator with a background in mechanical prototyping and testing, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to develop cutting-edge small unmanned electric aircraft from the ground up. Our fast-paced development environment balances innovation and ingenuity with practicality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test prototypes using various fabrication techniques, including machining, 3D printing, and composite fabrication
- Collaborate with the engineering team to fabricate prototypes and test setups, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and keep shop equipment in good condition, adhering to safety protocols
- Assist the engineering team with design for manufacturing, ensuring efficient production processes
- Support the development of micro unmanned aircraft, including flight testing and maintenance
