Compliance Testing Officer

Job Summary:
The Compliance Testing Officer will oversee the fulfillment and timely completion of internal compliance related monitoring, reviews, exams, and audits from our bank partners and from federal and state regulatory bodies.
This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can multitask and communicate effectively with various levels of the Best Egg Team, our bank partners, and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, coordinate, and perform internal compliance testing reviews, including requesting, gathering, advising, reviewing, and delivering materials, facilitating meetings, and timely escalating potential issues.
- Conduct detailed interviews and walkthroughs with key business leaders to document and evidence compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
- Stay abreast of business and regulatory changes to ensure materials are relevant and accurate.
- Assist in the creation of testing programs to document testing steps.
- Identify findings and communicate to internal compliance team members as well as members of Best Egg staff, management, and/or leadership.
- Draft professional reports to detail testing results and communicate to leadership within Best Egg.
- Create data request forms to facilitate the timely retrieval of data for ongoing compliance testing activities.
- Provide consultative guidance on compliance issues and proposed remediation as well as track and validate remediation actions performed to resolve compliance-related issues.
- Develop testing workpapers adhering to best practices of compliance/audit requirements.
- Compile data and reporting in preparation for monthly Compliance Committee meetings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience involving compliance testing or audit or regulatory reviews in financial services.
- Working knowledge of lending and consumer protection related regulations, in particular with respect to personal loans and/or credit cards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Highly effective project management and organizational skills, strong attention to detail, a proven track record of meeting deadlines, and ability to multitask and reprioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Data analysis skills including working with and vetting out large volumes of data are a plus.
