Job Summary:

The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will support business control functions of GCM business and specifically manage existing Policies & Procedures annual reviews with change management and identify new areas of Procedures to be drafted and implemented as and when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Spearhead the enhancement of GCM's procedure portfolio including driving increased consistency and standardization.
  2. Partner with technology and transformation teams to ensure any changes to GCM's operating model and processes are appropriately reflected in policies and procedures.
  3. Identify any material gaps or inconsistencies between what is included in procedures and day-to-day business practice and partner with risk and business stakeholders to close gaps.
  4. Oversee the taxonomy of business controls across the value chain and ensure controls included in procedures align with what is documented in Compliance systems.
  5. Work closely with M&T Bank's Policies team to understand the Policies that applies to GCM and identify gaps if any to draft and implement GCM specific new Policies in consultation with Legal, Compliance and Risk teams.
  6. Participate in M&T Bank level Policies review projects and calls to provide GCM inputs and communicate M&T Bank level changes to GCM business product leaders working closely with Change Management team.
  7. Participate in Risk and Control projects representing GCM Business Control Group to provide inputs and receive feedback for improving controls defined in various Procedures.
  8. Work closely with Compliance, Operations, Legal and various Product Leaders to get feedback on changes to Regulations or processes to perform impact analysis on existing Policies and Procedures.
  9. Represent GCM in internal or external audits with providing Procedures or policy related documents for audit examinations and handle any query associated with the examination.
  10. Work closely with Technology and Change Management teams for automation and creation of required Reports and improve the processes of controls.
  11. Perform Control testing as required and close test outcome reviews.
  12. Support any other Business Control tasks as and when required.

Scope of Responsibilities:

The position requires substantial interaction with internal and external contacts to obtain pertinent information and serves as liaison between the department and other business units on various projects.

The jobholder works independently under very limited supervision as well as a member or a project leader of a project team. The position serves as resource for less experienced employees.

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with Audit concentration preferred.

  1. Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  2. Corporate Trust experience is required with excellent understanding of its products and processes.
  3. Strong writing skills and prior experience to draft, edit and publish Policies or Procedures.
  4. Ability to reach through team meetings or by email to various owners of processes and Operations to receive feedback on changes to update Procedures.
  5. Exam Management experience – working with auditors and examiners is preferred.
  6. Experience of scheduling and coordinating meetings and circulating minutes and follow up action.
  7. Well organized to manage calendar of upcoming reviews and ability to plan well in advance required.
  8. Ability to multi-task and experience interacting with all levels of personnel and/or ability to build relationships with management and business partners.
  9. Excellent Verbal and Written Communication skills.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $91,061.75 - $151,769.58 Annual (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
