Job SummaryWe are seeking a strong Business Group Manager to lead and grow our newly formed Building Engineering Services Business Group in the IL/IN Area.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to grow the business and diversify the client base.
- Oversee a building engineering project delivery team of about 12 staff in the Area and growing.
- Manage the building engineering project delivery team, providing broad engineering, consulting, planning and program management services to a strong client base in the Illinois / Indiana Area.
- Develop and implement strategies to grow the business and to diversify the client base.
- Participate in strategic client and project pursuits, potentially managing projects, providing technical services, staff administration, marketing, overseeing quality of deliverables, and supervising and mentoring staff.
- Prepare annual revenue forecasts and budgets, monitor performance of the business group.
- Help sell and win projects that match the expertise and developmental goals of the staff.
- BS in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural or closely related Engineering degree is required.
- PE license.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Building MEP, civil or structural project delivery and planning.
- A positive professional reputation as one who can deliver quality, cost effective projects.
- Self-starter; strong communication and people skills.
- Marketing experience.
- Success in initiating and managing growth.
- Strong understanding of all HDR's business groups and market sectors that require building engineering services.
- Prior consulting experience preferred.
- Must work cooperatively with IL/IN Area Manager as well as other Building Engineering Services Managers throughout HDR.
- Must be committed to quality and improvement and promoting HDR's values.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.
- Candidates who reside locally in the Chicago market are preferred.
