Job Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Leader will oversee all maintenance operations to ensure optimal functionality across the entire production facility. This role encompasses various aspects of Maintenance Management, including Maintenance Materials Inventory (MRO), the lifecycle of Maintenance personnel, Manufacturing Process Reliability, and Equipment Reliability. Responsibilities include managing departmental budgets, utilizing computerized maintenance management systems, and implementing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies. Additionally, the role requires expertise in managing technical skills related to electrical, electronic, control programming, and mechanical systems, as well as waste treatment and utilities systems management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise maintenance teams to guarantee that all systems function at peak performance to meet production schedules, quality standards, and cost-efficiency.
  • Enhance reliability and maintenance procedures to minimize costs and prevent production losses due to equipment failures.
  • Assess equipment capabilities and safety conditions in collaboration with other supervisors and technicians.
  • Create cost-effective preventative maintenance protocols to extend the lifespan of machinery.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through equipment modifications and enhancements.
  • Support the development and execution of operational standards and corrective measures.
  • Regularly develop, implement, and review maintenance logs specific to the site.
  • Coordinate and oversee corrective and preventive maintenance activities in alignment with company policies and financial guidelines.
  • Provide training on maintenance practices, including effective use of maintenance logs and routine equipment upkeep.
  • Assist team members in troubleshooting machinery and equipment issues.
  • Analyze production schedules to estimate labor requirements for job completion.
  • Help manage spare parts inventory through requisition preparation.
  • Maintain departmental budgets positively by optimizing workforce and equipment utilization.
  • Participate in safety training, monthly safety meetings, and contribute to safety committee initiatives.
  • Evaluate long-term needs concerning major projects and facility enhancements.
  • Ensure that equipment and facilities are maintained in a safe and operational state or arrange for necessary upgrades.
  • Establish protocols for timely equipment repairs.
  • Guide teams in the maintenance and repair of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and utility systems.
  • Lead efforts in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
  • Foster positive employee relations through consistent communication and monthly departmental safety meetings.
  • Analyze production downtime reports to identify improvement opportunities and develop action plans.
  • Engage in yearly audits and assist in the formulation of procedures and corrective actions.
  • Lead the implementation of quality management processes and operational standards to achieve performance targets.
  • Collaborate with business leaders on process improvement initiatives, including change management and facilitation.
  • Assist in supervising maintenance staff, focusing on performance management and professional development.
  • Communicate effectively with external agencies, including contractors and equipment suppliers.
  • Maintain close coordination with the Maintenance Manager, other Supervisors, team members, and Human Resources.
Qualifications
  • Preferred experience in maintenance management.
  • 1-5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems is essential.
  • Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) systems is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and utility systems, including refrigeration and boiler systems, is advantageous.
  • Understanding of cost systems, both direct and overhead, is beneficial.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, afternoons, nights, and weekends.
