Role Summary:
As a Campus Safety Specialist, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the well-being of students, faculty, and visitors within the educational environment. This part-time role requires candidates who are dependable, possess outstanding communication skills, and maintain a polished professional demeanor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage security checkpoints for all individuals entering and exiting the facility.
- Serve as a Campus Safety Specialist, fostering a secure and welcoming atmosphere for all within the educational institution.
- Maintain a vigilant presence, monitoring and reporting any unusual activities or individuals to the relevant authorities.
- Welcome and assist visitors, ensuring compliance with the institution's security protocols.
- Provide directions and information to visitors, staff, and students regarding the appropriate areas within the campus.
- Collaborate with fellow security personnel to ensure a unified response to any security-related incidents.
- Be available for after-school events and maintain flexibility in scheduling.
- Prior experience in Law Enforcement or Military is preferred.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of safety and security protocols within educational settings.
- Ability to work effectively with school administrators and staff.
- Familiarity with security technology, including CCTV systems, access control, emergency management, and visitor tracking.
- Ability to perform under pressure during emergency situations while maintaining composure.
Position Requirements:
- Consistently present a well-groomed and professional appearance.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are essential for effective interaction with students, staff, and visitors.
- Physical capability to navigate the campus as required.
- Must possess a valid NYS Security Guard License.
- High School Diploma is required.
- Previous experience in Law Enforcement or Military is advantageous.
Compensation: Competitive wage structure with supplemental benefits, totaling a pay rate of $27.36 per hour.
