Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Safety Specialist to join our team at St. Joseph's Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Perform tasks that do not require nursing judgments or administration of medications, including assisting patients with ADLs, obtaining vital signs, and completing safety checks.
  • Assist with emergency safety situations, including restraint application and seclusion.
  • Work to promote a restraint-free environment and identify escalating behaviors early on.
  • Participate in orientation and continuing education to maintain knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years healthcare-related work experience, customer service, and strong communication skills preferred.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification and First Aid training required.
Work Environment

This role is based in an office/clinical setting with exposure to moderate hazards.

Physical Demands

This position requires heavy work, including standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying for long periods of time.

Pay and Benefits

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education, with a pay range of $25.90. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
