Quality Assurance Technician

Actalent is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team in Newburyport, MA. As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in GFSI/FSSC22000 yearly audits and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment and processing environment are ready for manufacturing.
  • Check QA paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
  • Collect oven records, weight charts, and metal detector reports.
  • Conduct daily calibration of thermometers.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests, including moisture and microbiological analysis.
  • Collect Certificates of Analysis (CofA's) and specification review in VIPER.
  • Perform food safety audits with raw materials, WIP, and finished products.
  • Participate in the creation and execution of food safety corrective actions.
  • Verify production line setup, standards, and reporting documentation.
  • Participate as a GMP Coach to monitor compliance and address deficiencies.
  • Operate equipment such as ATP Swabber, Moisture Analyzer, and environmental swabs.
  • Collect and process microbiological and environmental swabs, and enter data results.
  • Collect and process ingredient, in-process, and finished goods samples.
  • Participate in the Post-Clean inspection program.
  • Collect data from production lines and report variances to area supervisors.
  • Assist in educating Operations personnel on Quality and Food Safety programs.
  • Participate in Material Review Meetings.
  • Communicate with Quality Assurance Department team members.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work an overnight 3rd shift.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
