Job OverviewRochester Electronics is seeking a skilled Failure Analyst Technician to join our team.
This role involves analyzing materials used in the production and handling of integrated circuits, ensuring the highest quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities- Provide lab analytical services to support production, quality, reliability, sales, and customer requests.
- Perform decapsulation of various packages, including hermetic and plastic molded packages, using chemical, laser, and mechanical methods.
- Conduct cross sections and parallel polishing of die, wafers, or packages, and delineate cross sections using chemical, ION milling, or RIE etching.
- Perform deprocessing of die or wafers using a combination of chemical, mechanical, or RIE etching.
- Operate a wide variety of FA tools to identify root cause of failures, including optical and SEM microscopy, EDAX elemental analysis, polishing tools, milling tools, Reactive Ion Etcher, Laser Decap, Jet Etcher, X-Ray, and C-SAM (Scanning Acoustic Microscopy).
- Collaborate with Product, Assembly, and Test Engineers to support Material Analysis efforts and ensure timely execution of customer and supplier projects with high quality.
- 2-year associate's degree in electronics or equivalent industry experience.
- 3 to 5 years of work experience in a related field is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of semiconductor products, device layout, and process technologies.
- Understanding of device physics and semiconductor fabrication techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to interface with customers and suppliers.
- Ability to work with chemical and physical de-processing with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and handle several active projects simultaneously.
