Position Overview:
The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to take on the role of a Family Intensive Resource Support Team Case Worker (Direct Care Worker III). This position is integral to the Family Intensive Resource Support Team.

Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are essential to the role and may not encompass all responsibilities:

  • Assist in evaluating the needs of individuals and families, collaborating to establish goals and strategies to meet those needs.
  • Deliver direct support services within clients' homes or community settings, focusing on behavioral, recreational, and community safety programming.
  • Provide guidance in daily living and social skills, offering instruction and assistance to individuals.
  • Train and mentor family members, serving as a role model to help implement the objectives of the Family Intensive Resource Support Team contract.
  • Collaborate with families to achieve the goals outlined in the Family Intensive Resource Support Team contract.
  • Complete all necessary administrative tasks as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Applicants with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

  • Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish.
  • Familiarity with various disability groups.
  • Understanding of human rights principles.
  • Proficiency in current software applications.

Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, with weekends off.

About the Department of Developmental Services:
The mission of DDS is to foster innovative opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, enabling them to engage fully and contribute meaningfully to their communities. DDS serves over 43,000 individuals, providing a wide range of day, employment, and residential supports.

Pre-Employment Process:
Recommended candidates must complete pre-employment screenings, including background checks and verification of education and certifications.

Minimum Requirements:
Applicants should possess at least two years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in providing direct support services to individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Substitutions:
An Associate's degree or higher in a human services field may substitute for one year of required experience.
