Custodian Position

The City of Englewood is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing furniture
  • Empty trash containers and pick up debris
  • Wash glass surfaces, including windows, doors, and desktops
  • Operate floor buffer, auto scrubber, vacuum, and carpet cleaning equipment
  • Inform supervisor of hazardous and unsafe conditions
Additional Duties:
  • Set up facilities for meetings, including tables, chairs, and audio/visual equipment
  • Use city vehicles to pick up/drop off supplies and run errands as requested
  • Ensure building security by checking doors and reporting any issues
  • Dust outside of air conditioning and heating vents
  • Conduct facility inspections with supervisor to ensure level of service agreements
Requirements:
  • High School education or GED preferred
  • 1 year experience in janitorial and building maintenance
  • ISSA Basic Certified Custodial Technician or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Valid Colorado driver's license and safe driving record
Working Conditions:

Work is performed inside City facilities and occasionally on surrounding grounds. Exposed to various conditions, including wet, hot, and cold conditions. May be required to work day or night shifts.
