Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at the U.S. Pacific Fleet, Commander in Chief. As a key member of our Production Engineering and Facilities Division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the technical adequacy of work prepared by other engineering/technical personnel.

Responsibilities
  • Review and assure the technical adequacy of work prepared by other engineering/technical personnel.
  • Analyze system demands, determine capacities, operational parameters, environmental/safety criteria, and maintenance requirements to ensure facility and/or equipment needs are satisfied.
  • Prepare manufacturing drawings, supporting calculations, specifications, and direct and advise other engineers and technicians in the design, review, and specification of industrial support facilities and plant equipment.
  • Perform planning, research, development, layout, and coordination of a variety of major industrial facilities and equipment projects.
Requirements
  • At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
  • Applying professional engineering theories, principles, and concepts to design, plan, and coordinate production facilities and plant equipment projects.
Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
