Marine Elevator Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Marine Elevator Mechanic to join our team at Huntington Ingalls Industries. As a Marine Elevator Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled trades, maintenance, and technical tasks on aircraft carrier elevators, cargo-handling systems, and associated equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform maintenance and repairs on marine electro-mechanical systems, including aircraft elevators, weapons elevators, and vertical stores conveyors.
- Develop and use technical documents, including controlled work packages, formal work processes, and procedures.
- Apply comprehensive understanding of production and processes to complete assignments.
- Interface with customers, manage subcontractors, and provide work direction to others.
- Schedule, report, and brief customers and senior management.
- High School education or equivalent, and 4 years of related experience.
- Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
- Must have experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of marine electro-mechanical systems.
- Must have experience performing troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and testing of hydraulic systems.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain base access credentials (DBIDS).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Confidential Security Clearance and must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be proficient at reading US Navy schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Technical/professional certifications.
- Experience with aircraft carrier elevator systems.
- A current, valid DoD Confidential Security Clearance or higher.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes.
- Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions, and in confined spaces.
- Able to perform other duties as required, which may involve high heat, humidity, noise, and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels.
