Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our inpatient psychiatric unit, you will provide high-quality care to patients with various mental health conditions, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients
  • Administer medication and treatment, as prescribed by physicians
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
  • Monitor patient behavior and mental status, identifying potential risks and interventions
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in New Mexico or eligibility for reciprocal agreement
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification
  • 1 year of experience in psychiatric nursing or a related field
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of patient acuity. You will be expected to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
