UNM Hospitals is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Registered Nurse to join our team in the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide exceptional care to patients in a mental health/psychiatric environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement individualized nursing care plans for patients with various cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders.
- Conduct thorough assessments, observe patient behavior, and perform triage and crisis intervention as needed.
- Administer medication, provide education, and coordinate patient care activities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and facilitate group therapy and education sessions.
- Document patient progress, collect and analyze data, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Current RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement.
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification within 30 days.
- 1 year of direct experience in a mental health/psychiatric setting.
- Bilingual English and Spanish language proficiency.
This role requires heavy physical exertion, with frequent lifting, bending, and standing. You will work in a fast-paced environment with potentially combative patients, and may be exposed to chemicals and biohazardous materials.
