About the Role

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our Orthopedic Surgery Department. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting research protocols related to pediatric orthopedic problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop standard operating procedures for a robotic joint testing system used for multiaxial testing of musculoskeletal specimens.
  • Support the use of the robotic joint testing system in various projects by maintenance, training, and running tests.
  • Provide routine training to users of various other mechanical testers.
  • Coordinate between Nemours and DCMR and laboratories that share their equipment with the University community through Nemours / DCMR.
  • Perform mechanical tests of biological specimens.
  • Develop new experimental procedures and apparatus in response to user requests.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory equipment, working with external vendors as needed.
  • Fabricate or coordinate the fabrication of test fixtures.
  • Ability to write maintainable software for data acquisition, analysis, and modeling, especially using the Labview, python, R, and Matlab scientific software stacks.
Requirements
  • Minimum of an Advanced/Master's Degree.
  • Engineering degree is preferred; Science degrees with engineering experience is welcome as well.
