We are seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Faculty Physician Researcher to join our esteemed Department of Family Medicine at the University of North Carolina. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to our mission of improving the health and well-being of North Carolinians and others we serve.
About the PositionThis is an exceptional opportunity to work in a vibrant, nationally prominent department, collaborating with renowned faculty and researchers to achieve greater excellence and impact in primary care research. As a Faculty Physician Researcher, you will be an integral part of our team, advancing the tripartite mission of the UNC School of Medicine, including excellent patient care, superior teaching, and impactful research.
Responsibilities- Conduct high-quality research in health services research, evaluation of healthcare interventions, clinical trials, public health, health policy, population health, or a closely related field.
- Develop and implement innovative research projects, collaborating with faculty and researchers to advance the field of primary care research.
- Teach and mentor students, residents, and fellows in the Department of Family Medicine, promoting excellence in clinical care and research.
- Engage in community outreach and professional events to build relationships and advance program development.
- Contribute to the development of research proposals, securing grant funding to support research initiatives.
Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to be collaborative, positive, and productive. A MD or DO degree is required, with board certification in Family Medicine. Fellowship training and/or an advanced degree (e.g., MPH) is highly desirable.
