Manager of Strategic Sourcing - Sourcing Operations

Expedia's Global Procurement Group, a vital part of the Finance organization, is looking for a Sourcing Manager to join its Sourcing Operations team. By fostering strong relationships with various stakeholders, you will be accountable for driving operational excellence and managing the prioritization of new procurement requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a timely and precise triage process for procurement activities submitted through the Procurement Intake Form at Expedia Group.
  • Provide category support, ensuring stakeholders have complete and accurate project details (e.g., specifications, timelines, challenges).
  • Promote continuous enhancement of procurement processes.
  • Manage administrative tasks and activity reporting as necessary to support projects.
  • Lead contract creation and negotiation, including drafting and refining redline commercial components of purchasing and service contracts, statements of work, and software order forms in collaboration with Legal and other stakeholders.
  • Analyze and communicate ongoing opportunities to optimize spending across various category teams for more strategic solutions.
  • Conduct analyses, coordinate key partner involvement (Legal, Tax, Information Security, Finance, etc.), and execute supporting administrative processes.
  • Facilitate efforts across multiple products/brands and geographies to develop solutions to challenges.
  • Create, communicate, and implement sourcing project work plans and timelines. Identify supporting efforts, dependencies, or barriers, and communicate progress on sourcing issues.
  • Execute a portfolio of projects that includes both large, critical initiatives and transactional tasks.
  • Assist with risk assessments to identify issues (financial, operational, and/or regulatory) and develop risk mitigation strategies. Communicate risks and alternative strategies to business owners and partners.
  • Manage administrative tasks and activity reporting as needed to support projects.
  • Support other business-related activities as directed by management.
Qualifications:
  • Positive and proactive attitude.
  • Strong understanding of procurement and strategic sourcing practices, particularly in support of Marketing functions.
  • Excellent analytical, process-oriented, and collaborative skills to resolve business challenges.
  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in global corporate indirect procurement/strategic sourcing, focusing on transactional processes with a goal of transitioning to more strategic solutions.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing teams in a customer service environment, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities.
  • Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and navigate high levels of ambiguity.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical, and interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven process orientation with project management skills and successful program implementation experience.
  • A collaborative team player who can work independently while effectively prioritizing tasks and resources.
  • Capable of working with abstract concepts and effectively communicating them to others.
  • Ability to engage with a complex matrix of partners and businesses.
  • Competent in managing time efficiently to complete work optimally.
