Job Summary

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in our state-of-the-art tower with 52 beds. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care, advocating for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and planning for individualized patient care, responding quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
  • Collaborate with the patient/family, considering developmental, cultural, and age-specific differences, to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians regarding patient clinical condition and results of diagnostic studies.
  • Perform nursing duties as needed in the continuum of care for all patients.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts and activities for the department.
  • Work collaboratively with Social Service and Pastoral care to support and provide families with emotional and end-of-life resources.
Qualifications
  • Current State of Utah Registered Nurse License or RN license in a Compact State.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 7 days from start date.
  • Associates Degree in Nursing required, BSN is preferred.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification within 90 days from start date.
  • Previous critical care experience strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Basic Arrhythmia Recognition must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
