Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental standards and state regulations. Collaborating with medical teams, you will provide personalized and compassionate care, adhering to established nursing protocols.

In Our Unit:

  • We welcome nurses with at least one year of experience who are interested in transitioning to hospital settings.
  • Our unit consists of 54 beds, working closely with Med/Surg and ER departments.
  • We care for patients transitioning from the ER with diverse diagnoses, including cellulitis, cardiac issues, detox, stroke, and pneumonia.
  • We also support patients considering elective hospice care.
  • This role offers extensive learning opportunities in observation, telemetry, and managing rapidly changing conditions.
  • Career advancement paths include progression to progressive care, ICU, ER, or Cath Lab units.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized patient care plans.
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions or treatment responses.
  • Collaborate with patients and families, considering developmental, cultural, and age-specific needs.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians regarding patient conditions and diagnostic results.
  • Perform nursing duties across the continuum of care.
  • Engage in departmental process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain professionalism, especially in high-pressure situations.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Utah.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within seven days of hire.
  • Certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS).
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • Ability to articulate and demonstrate nursing theory and practice.
