Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team at Step Up Rehab Lake City. As a COTA, you will play a vital role in providing occupational therapy services to our patients, helping them to achieve their goals and regain independence.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy plans for patients, focusing on activities of daily living, mobility, and cognitive skills.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and cognitive abilities, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies for rehabilitation.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication with patients and families.
  • Provide education and training to patients and caregivers on proper techniques and strategies for daily living and mobility.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an educational program for occupational therapy assistants recognized by the Board of Occupational Therapy Practice.
  • Licensure to practice as an occupational therapy assistant in the state of Florida.
  • Prior experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, preferably in a skilled nursing facility setting.
  • Member of state and national American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Professional attitude and appearance, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
