About the Role of Surveying Specialist II
Under direct supervision, as a Surveying Specialist II, you will oversee and implement the quality assurance and quality control strategies for various projects, encompassing a wide array of tasks that necessitate a comprehensive understanding of land surveying and mapping.
Key Responsibilities for Surveying Specialist II
- Assist licensed land surveyors and CAD technicians, coordinating with engineers, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies for the completion of mapping, submissions, and specifications.
- Engage in all facets of land surveying, which may include research and analysis, reviewing title reports, right-of-way engineering, ALTA surveys, design surveys, topographic mapping, photogrammetry, LiDAR, Point Cloud processing, boundary determinations, and construction staking, along with preparing legal descriptions, right-of-way plan sheets, and survey records.
- Help organize and coordinate projects that involve a diverse range of tasks requiring expertise in surveying, mapping, and construction.
- Maintain and manage filing systems alongside local and wide-area network operating systems.
- Draft technical exhibits and final project deliverables.
- Provide daily assistance and support to the Project Surveyor.
- Prepare requests for information, reports, and project schedules.
- Conduct research and analysis of boundary elements for retracement purposes.
- Perform survey calculations, analyses, and field support calculations.
Minimum Qualifications for Surveying Specialist II
- A minimum of 3 years of surveying experience and a High School Diploma/GED OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Geomatics or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications for Surveying Specialist II
- LSIT Certification.
- Familiarity with software such as Carlson, Trimble TBC, MicroStation, InRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience in public mapping, including subdivision maps, parcel maps, records of survey, legal descriptions, and exhibits.
- Expertise in topographic design mapping.
- Ability to read and interpret deeds.
- Understanding of fundamental boundary survey principles.
