Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Coordinator to join our team at Virginia Jobs. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating high-quality, child-centered, family-focused, cost-effective, community-based services to at-risk youth and their families within a local government structure as organized under the Children's Services Act (CSA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective working relationships with families, colleagues, agencies, vendors, consultants, and state and local government officials.
  • Provide accurate technical assistance and guidance to internal and external customers on policy and procedures.
  • Collect, analyze, organize, and report data to develop meaningful, measurable outcomes to provide feedback to the Community Policy Management Team (CPMT) and the Family Assessment Planning Team (FAPT) and other interested local parties on the operation of the CSA program.
  • Think critically and creatively to resolve problems in the service delivery system.
  • Research, locate, and develop additional services to meet identified needs of at-risk youth and their families.
  • Plan, organize, facilitate, and/or deliver both routine and specialized training.
  • Work successfully independently and as a team member.
  • Manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in human services, public administration, business management, or a related field with some experience in human services, public administration, business management, education, or a related field or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of community resources and services available to at-risk youth and their families.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience with the Children's Services Act (CSA) highly desired.
Special Requirements
  • Applicants will be subject to a Criminal History Background search, Central Registry search, OMV/driving record check, and/or pre-employment drug screen.
  • The investigation may include fingerprint checks (State Police, FBI), local agency checks, employment verification, and references, verification of education (relevant to employment), credit checks (relevant to employment), and other checks requested by the hiring authority.
