Position Responsibilities:
As a Senior Accountant, your duties will include:
1. Overseeing the complete accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and financial reporting.
2. Managing grant accounting to ensure adherence to all grant regulations and timelines.
3. Preparing and analyzing financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
4. Ensuring timely and accurate revenue recognition in line with applicable accounting standards.
5. Assisting in the development of annual budgets and financial projections.
6. Establishing and enforcing accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
7. Collaborating with various departments to ensure the accuracy and clarity of financial data.
8. Participating in financial audits and implementing suggested improvements.
9. Providing mentorship and support to junior accounting personnel.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
2. At least 3 years of experience in a senior accounting position, ideally within the non-profit sector.
3. Proven expertise in grant accounting and accounts receivable management.
4. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and non-profit accounting standards.
5. Proficient in financial reporting and revenue recognition processes.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
8. Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiar with accounting software.
10. CPA designation or progress towards it is a plus.
