Job Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for executing a range of maintenance and repair activities to ensure that MKM Hotels meets both company and regulatory standards for functionality, cleanliness, safety, and security.

Key Responsibilities

· Conducts routine inspections and maintains the overall condition of guest rooms and public areas, ensuring that all furniture, appliances, and electrical devices, including televisions, refrigerators, and lighting fixtures, are operational.

· Verifies that all paintwork and flooring adhere to company quality standards.

· Services or replaces HVAC systems, including individual air conditioning units, as necessary.

· Cleans and upkeeps the hotel's exterior areas, such as parking lots, swimming pools, and landscaping.

Guest Interaction

· Provides assistance to guests whenever feasible.

· Addresses and resolves escalated customer service issues.

· Responds to inquiries regarding hotel policies and services.

· Effectively manages guest requests to ensure satisfaction with hotel services and accommodations.

· Represents and promotes the property positively.

· Ensures that systems and procedures are implemented and adhered to for guest safety and security.

· Aids guests and staff with maintenance-related needs.

Additional Responsibilities

· Collaborates with other maintenance personnel as required.

· Secures all tools, equipment, and supplies after use.

· Reports significant repair issues or requests to the Maintenance Manager or General Manager.

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent relevant work experience is required.

· Minimum of 1 year of prior maintenance or grounds experience is necessary.

· Proficient knowledge of plumbing, painting, HVAC, electrical systems, and general repair skills is essential.

· Ability to work efficiently under time constraints.

· Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

· Capable of working independently as well as part of a team.

· Excellent customer service and communication abilities.

· Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry over 50 pounds.

· Regularly required to walk, bend, climb, kneel, and reach to complete assigned tasks.

· Must possess the physical capability to perform all mentioned duties within a specified timeframe.

· May require travel and use of a personal vehicle.

· Flexible scheduling is necessary.
