About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Security Officer to join our team at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our staff, patients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors by enforcing security policies and procedures.
  • Interact with other security personnel and hospital staff to provide a quality security service, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Demonstrate decision-making and critical thinking skills to respond effectively to security incidents and emergencies.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Wisconsin Driver's License to operate hospital vehicles.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather and in weather extremes, ensuring continuity of security services.
  • Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and/or various regulatory agencies to maintain compliance and excellence.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of security procedures and standards, including emergency response protocols.
  • Associate's or Technical School degree in Police Science or current student in Police Science program, with a focus on security and law enforcement.
  • Security experience/training or background is beneficial, with a proven track record of providing exceptional security services.
  • Demonstrated ability in use of N95 or PAPR (Powered Air Purified Respirator) and other precautionary equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ability to operate computerized equipment, two-way radio, and personal computer and related software to effectively communicate and respond to security incidents.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including tact, diplomacy, and de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts and ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form, with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent customer service skills to provide a positive experience for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Self-restraint in challenging and/or difficult situations, with a focus on maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Professional composure during emergency or in pressure circumstances, with a focus on effective decision-making and critical thinking.
