Job Summary:
The Cost Accounting Manager/Supply Chain Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the organization's manufacturing operations accounting function. This position will coordinate the activities of Plant Accounting groups and Corporate Finance to provide timely, consistent, and meaningful financial results reporting, budgets, and forecasts of manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Financial Reporting: Review plant results each month and question unexplained variances, oversee any necessary adjustments, and develop and provide management with key performance indicators for decision-making purposes.
- Process Improvement: Proactively identify and analyze opportunities to improve results and facility processes, ensuring plans are in place to capitalize on these opportunities.
- Team Management: Manage the local Plant Controller and support staff, setting goals and motivating, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring timely, accurate month-end financial closing along with the publication and review of related results reports.
- Budgeting: Support the Financial Budgets and Planning Group in the development of the annual budget for manufacturing operations, ultimately responsible for completing plant budgets in a timely manner and coordinating activity between plant controllers and other groups at corporate to complete the budget.
- Standard Costs: Manage the development of standards costs and the standard costs tables within the existing ERP system, overseeing the year-end physical inventory process and rolling costs in the system at year-end.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting management, with a strong background in cost accounting.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership and history of driving change and making a difference.
- Communication: Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with non-accounting professionals.
- Initiative: Self-starter, take initiative, and intellectual curiosity.
