JOB SUMMARY

We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team for an offshore brownfield asset retirement initiative.

The Lead Civil/Structural Engineer will be instrumental in overseeing civil and structural engineering tasks for an offshore brownfield asset retirement project. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, process, and electrical engineers, as well as environmental and regulatory experts, to develop and implement engineering solutions that ensure the safe decommissioning of offshore facilities while minimizing environmental impact and complying with regulatory standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct and manage all civil and structural engineering functions throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design to execution and completion.
  • Create engineering design specifications, calculations, and drawings for offshore brownfield asset retirement activities, including platform decommissioning, structural modifications, and foundation design.
  • Perform thorough site assessments and surveys to evaluate existing conditions and identify structural integrity issues, corrosion damage, and deterioration that require remediation.
  • Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, ensuring the quality and precision of civil and structural engineering outputs.
  • Work in conjunction with project managers and other stakeholders to define project scopes, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely delivery of engineering outputs.
  • Engage with clients, regulatory bodies, and third-party contractors to address technical inquiries, resolve engineering challenges, and facilitate project approvals.
  • Conduct advanced structural analyses, including finite element analysis (FEA) and seismic analysis, to evaluate the performance and stability of offshore structures under various loading conditions.
  • Review and assess vendor proposals and technical documentation related to civil and structural components, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and safety assessments to promote effective communication and coordination among project teams.
  • Encourage a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility, ensuring that all civil and structural engineering activities align with company policies and procedures.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in civil and structural engineering roles, particularly in offshore oil and gas projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in civil and structural design, analysis, and optimization of offshore facilities, including platforms, pipelines, and subsea structures.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software tools, such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, and RISA, for structural modeling and analysis.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering innovative and practical engineering solutions.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards governing offshore decommissioning activities, including API, AISC, and ASCE requirements.
  • Willingness to travel to offshore facilities and project sites as needed to support engineering activities and project execution.
