Senior Piping and Mechanical Engineering Lead

We are currently seeking a proficient Mechanical/Piping Engineer to join our team, focusing on offshore brownfield asset retirement.

The Lead Mechanical Engineer will take charge of mechanical engineering initiatives for the offshore brownfield asset retirement project. This role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, process, civil/structural engineers, as well as environmental and regulatory specialists. The primary objective is to devise and execute mechanical engineering strategies for the safe decommissioning of offshore installations, with a focus on minimizing environmental impact and ensuring compliance with regulations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing engineering deliverables such as construction packages, feasibility studies, and environmental assessments, while effectively managing the distribution of work to remote offices to achieve project success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead all mechanical engineering functions from initial concept through to project completion
  • Develop design specifications for asset retirement in accordance with applicable codes and standards
  • Mentor junior team members and foster their professional development
  • Engage with various stakeholders to outline project scopes, timelines, and budgets
  • Conduct feasibility analyses and risk evaluations for decommissioning tasks
  • Assess vendor proposals to ensure they meet project specifications
  • Communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors to resolve technical challenges
  • Participate in project meetings and reviews to ensure effective communication
  • Track project progress and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Guarantee that all activities comply with safety, quality, and environmental regulations
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; advanced degree is preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical and piping engineering for offshore projects
  • Proven expertise in the design and analysis of offshore facilities
  • Proficient in engineering software such as AutoCAD, CAESAR II, PDMS/AVEVA
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and standards
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required
