Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and guide patients, visitors, and staff within the facility.
  • Respond to phone inquiries promptly and courteously, directing calls to the appropriate personnel or departments, and ensuring messages are delivered accurately.
  • Collect and manage patient referral information from affiliated healthcare providers.
  • Assist visitors and patients in navigating to the correct areas; provide essential information to enhance their experience.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Distribute important departmental literature, ensuring accessibility of documents such as the Emergency Customer brochure and Patient Bill of Rights.
  • Process patient registrations by updating or entering demographic, financial, and emergency contact information into the electronic system.
  • Confirm demographic details and insurance coverage through interviews with patients or their representatives.
  • Create patient charts and attach necessary documentation according to established protocols.
  • Review discharged patient records for completeness, ensuring all required signatures and forms are present.
  • Manage laboratory specimens by ensuring proper labeling and documentation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Organize and retrieve patient charts and historical records as needed.
  • Input data into the required electronic systems accurately.
  • Maintain a patient recall system for follow-up.
  • Ensure all documentation is stamped and processed according to policy.
  • Log patient information accurately in registration sheets and reconcile records.
  • Obtain necessary signatures for consent forms.
  • Schedule clinic appointments as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Shared Responsibilities:

  • Welcome visitors and manage phone inquiries efficiently, directing them as necessary.
  • Maintain a safe and organized environment, addressing any facility issues promptly.
  • Assist in patient transport when required.
  • Provide interpretation assistance as needed, following current protocols.
Required Skills:

6-9 months of experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication and collaboration. High school diploma or equivalent required for record-keeping and reporting. Basic computer and keyboard skills are essential. Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and demonstrate flexibility in challenging situations. Proficient oral and written communication skills in English.
Education:
High school graduate or GED required.
