Job Summary:

The Patient Registration Counselor will be responsible for registering outpatient, pre-admissions, and admissions to CarolinaEast Health System.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Registration of patients for outpatient, pre-admissions, and admissions services
  2. Accurate and efficient processing of patient information
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Ability to work accurately with figures and maintain confidentiality
  5. Completion of nine assigned courses within the registration education module
Requirements:

High school diploma with additional courses in medical terminology, bookkeeping, computer use, and office machines

Two years of experience in a clerical healthcare setting preferred

Passing grade of 80 required for all courses, completed within 6 months of hire

Basic level of 26 prerequisite courses required for certification as a Patient Access Specialist (CPAS)
