San Francisco, California, United States Elemental Excelerator Full time
About Elemental Excelerator

We are a nonprofit investor in climate technologies with a deep commitment to community impact. With over a decade of experience across the climate sector, we have a maturing and active portfolio of 150+ companies.

We fill two critical gaps in addressing climate change: funding projects for climate technologies in communities and embedding equity and access into climate solutions. Our mission is to create a system change for a more resilient, equitable future.

Our Approach

We invest in transformative technologies and work closely with entrepreneurs from traditionally excluded backgrounds to embed equity and access into every aspect of development and implementation.

We focus on project deployments that meaningfully bring in community input and deliver community impact. Our wraparound support includes carbon finance, policy, equity and access coaching, corporate connections, diverse talent acquisition, follow-on funding partnerships, and more.

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic recruiter to join our People Team as the Senior Recruiter. In this role, you will lead our sourcing and recruiting efforts in collaboration with the Senior Manager of People Operations.

You will nurture and support our candidate experience strategy and onboarding program. This is a meaningful opportunity to help us scale rapidly and meet a very exciting moment in climate tech by hiring fantastic people who are passionate about the intersection of climate tech, innovation, equity, and environmental justice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day of sourcing and recruiting efforts
  • Support hiring managers in creating job descriptions and following steps in our comprehensive recruiting and hiring guide
  • Co-create and advance our sourcing strategy (direct outreach, job board postings, network and industry groups)
  • Set up job descriptions, assessments, interview questions, and evaluation criteria into Greenhouse
  • Track the candidate lifecycle in Greenhouse and run reports as needed to support and improve our hiring process
  • Conduct screens and first interviews with candidates
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the hiring process, providing timely updates and feedback where applicable
  • Prepare all necessary materials for candidates, hiring managers, and panelists
  • Run the debrief and offer process for each hiring round
  • Work with the Senior Manager of People Ops to implement interviewing and hiring training for managers and team members
  • Manage existing and new partnerships with recruiting agencies
  • Contribute to the onboarding experience designed by the People Team and help ensure each new hire has a fantastic onboarding experience
About You

You could be a great addition to our team if you are looking to work for a mission-driven organization, on a very driven and collaborative team.

You are excited to learn about our organization, which sits at the intersection of non-profit, climate, tech, and venture capital.

You deeply believe in climate justice and want to learn more about how Elemental, our portfolio companies, and external partners are working to create that reality for all.

You are a skilled relationship builder with strong listening skills and the ability to build rapport quickly with people from all backgrounds.

You bring a deep passion for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging into your interpersonal interactions and work, and you approach all people and situations with respect, a humble spirit, and curiosity.

You also adapt quickly to changes, stay open to possibilities, and are motivated by being a standout collaborator and solution maker.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience in full-cycle recruiting that handles all phases of the recruitment and hiring process.

Able to craft and implement effective and inclusive sourcing strategies to recruit top talent.

Strong interpersonal skills (active/reflective listening, relationship building, collaboration, teamwork, empathy, strong written and verbal communication, etc.).

Open and comfortable receiving and giving feedback, and willing to continue learning and adopting best practices.

Passionate about modeling positivity and embodying joyful work, as well as ensuring a positive candidate experience for everyone who interviews with Elemental.

Strong attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, phenomenal follow-through, as well as a passion for documentation and process.

Ability to maintain the confidentiality of candidates and the People Team when necessary.

Proficient in using Greenhouse, Zoom, G-Suite, Slack, and other tools to streamline the recruiting process and enhance efficiency.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time at-will position working at least 40 hours per week. You will be asked to travel for work periodically.

The salary range for this role is $99,300 - $146,000, which is based on market data and the organization's compensation philosophy.

We also offer comprehensive employee benefits, including a professional development stipend and three weeks paid time off.
