Job Overview:
The Senior Financial Analyst in Healthcare is responsible for the formulation and evaluation of annual operational budgets, assisting with the month-end closing process, and scrutinizing significant discrepancies between budgeted figures and actual trends. This role also involves preparing necessary journal entries.
This position plays a crucial role in supporting the revenue cycle, business growth, and operational enhancements within the hospital through comprehensive financial analysis, reporting, and operational assistance.
Key responsibilities include providing financial evaluations and recommendations, fostering relationships with operational leaders, and guiding new analysts and other stakeholders within the organization.
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience Requirements:
Two (2) years of experience in accounting or finance within the healthcare sector, or three (3) to five (5) years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
Skills and Knowledge:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel; Data Analysis; Database Fundamentals; Effective Communication; Problem Solving Skills; and Adaptability.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Lead financial initiatives aimed at analyzing and utilizing operational data to enhance organizational performance.
2. Maintain essential information systems necessary for productivity, budgeting, and reporting.
3. Provide financial assessments and recommendations for various departments based on budgetary trends.
4. Assist in the month-end closing process and generate analytical reports.
5. Build and maintain relationships with operational leaders as their financial liaison.
6. Support the development of budget forecasts and analyses, assisting department managers in completing their budgets.
7. Mentor new analysts and other stakeholders within the organization.
8. Drive projects to achieve the financial objectives of the organization.
9. Maintain monthly financial reconciliations as assigned.
10. Assist with ad hoc analytical projects, proformas, or reporting requests.
