Position: Clinical Nurse Coordinator - Open Heart (CVOR)

Compensation: $46 per hour, based on experience

Work Schedule:

  • Shift: 12-Hour Days (Rotating Weekends)
  • Weekly Hours: 36
  • Shift Timing: 07:00 AM to 07:00 PM

Role Summary:

As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will oversee the clinical and operational aspects of the unit during your assigned shift, stepping in for the Nursing Director as needed. You will collaborate with a highly skilled team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. This position demands strong leadership skills, clinical knowledge, and a commitment to high-quality, patient-focused service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while coordinating all unit functions during your shift.
  • Work with management to direct, monitor, and assess nursing care in line with established policies and procedures.
  • Act as a resource for staff, exemplifying the organization's vision, mission, and values.
  • Manage patient placement within the unit based on acuity, skill mix, and staff availability.
  • Identify and address the educational needs of the unit, providing support and guidance to staff.
  • Engage in patient care conferences, focusing on discharge planning and patient care requirements.
  • Conduct rounds with physicians, staying informed of any changes in patient conditions and making appropriate clinical decisions.
  • Ensure timely execution of all orders and interventions.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of recent acute care Charge Nurse experience in Open Heart (CVOR) is required.
  • Active Florida RN license or an approved multistate RN license.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Associate Degree, or Nursing Diploma is required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required before starting.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required within 6 months of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
