Job Overview

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (LMMFC) is in search of a dedicated and proactive Quality Engineer to enhance our production processes. Quality Engineers at LMMFC play a vital role as part of the design and production teams, focusing on the development and evaluation of quality standards, methodologies, work instructions, and procedures for inspecting both manufactured and procured items. Our goal is to ensure that customers receive products of the highest quality by meticulously developing and reviewing documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluating documentation pertaining to internal and external manufacturing processes to guarantee the delivery of quality products.
  • Identifying and resolving process-related issues, ranging from straightforward to highly complex.
  • Leading and participating in program corrective action meetings, recognizing trends, aiding in problem resolution, and ensuring that responsible parties fulfill their commitments.
  • Actively engaging in Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards, which involves addressing non-conforming hardware, determining hardware containment needs, and identifying root causes and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Conducting assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure adherence to specifications, engineering drawings, and ISO 9001 & AS9100 standards.
  • Collaborating with customers, suppliers, and program personnel on quality-related matters.
  • Implementing lean initiatives to minimize waste and promote continuous improvement.
  • Making final decisions regarding product acceptability.

For a level 2 position, a minimum of 2 years of professional experience is typically required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SAP.
  • Understanding of GD&T, FMEAs, and Root Cause and Corrective Action processes.
  • Experience with Six-Sigma green belt techniques and statistical process control methods.
  • Background in Discrete and/or Micro-electronics.
  • Knowledge of J-STD-001/IPC-A-610 standards.
  • ASQ CQE certification.
