Overview:


The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the training, development, and management of departmental staff; coordinating and scheduling departmental activities; overseeing the public health reporting process; ensuring adherence to laboratory policies and procedures; and managing departmental operations in a cost-effective manner.

The individual actively supports and adheres to all company and departmental policies and procedures.

This position is primarily onsite with the option to work from home two days a week.

Responsibilities:
Provides comprehensive supervision to both technical and administrative personnel. Responsible for the recruitment, retention, training, scheduling, evaluation, and guidance of QA team members.

Ensures the efficient functioning of the department to optimize employee productivity and maintain continuous workflow.

Monitors service quality and provides constructive feedback to staff regarding performance. Conducts annual performance evaluations.

Maintains strong client relations and fulfills public relations responsibilities with an open-door policy for clients and potential clients. Participates in Sales Academy as needed and assists in the preparation and presentation of data to clients as required.

Addresses issues raised by clients or technical staff.

Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the Quality Manual and quality monitoring systems, including annual reviews and summaries.


Prepares monthly reports for the Director of Quality Assurance and the Medical Director, detailing global quality indicators such as QC, proficiency testing, report revisions, specimen tracking, and responsiveness to inquiries.

Proficient in Quick TAT turnaround programs as a high-priority on-the-job training requirement.

Oversees quality control training for technical staff.

Evaluates test performance quality prior to inspections through internal CAPA and assists with inspections as needed. Also supports offsite inspections as required.

Manages the public health surveillance reporting process to regulatory agencies, including liaising with those agencies.

Assembles and maintains documentation for the Quality Assurance Department.

Monitors weekly and monthly records for DiH2O and autoclave operations.

Reviews submissions for proficiency programs.

Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Work Experience:
A minimum of one year of supervisory experience is required.

Preferred Work Experience:
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, QMS Core Practitioner Training)

Physical and Mental Requirements:
Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.

Knowledge:
Strong background in statistical analysis and familiarity with relevant software applications.

Understanding of management, administrative, and supervisory practices, with the ability to plan and direct QA personnel.

Skills:
Demonstrated leadership abilities and managerial skills.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage pressure effectively.

Capability to handle sensitive information discreetly.

Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
ASCP International Medical Technologist (MT) certification is required.

Formal training in project management or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, Lean, Theory of Constraints)
