AWS Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

Job Summary:
Eliassen Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS System Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our cloud operations team, you will be responsible for providing support for daily operations and maintenance of a federal customer network that includes Linux and Windows AWS EC2 instances, S3 storage buckets, Syslog and CloudWatch logging, and other AWS services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with system architects, network engineers, system engineers, software developers, and database administrators to maintain and build servers, and to perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, problem analysis, and resolution of issues as they arise.
- Participate in all aspects of network and system operations daily, including team meetings and troubleshooting calls.
- Keep leadership informed of status and escalate potential areas of concern.
- Lead small workgroups and work assigned projects and daily assignments to successful completion.
- Coordinate with business and technology teams on system/software requirements.
- Create and update system/software documentation.
- Research and make suggestions on the deployment of emerging technologies.
Requirements:
- Expert Linux and Windows administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting skills, including shell scripting and Nagios Core experience.
- Expert knowledge of administering and troubleshooting AWS services, including CloudFormation.
- Expert knowledge of AWS cost efficiency strategies.
- Demonstrated experience of creating, executing, and troubleshooting Ansible playbooks.
- Demonstrated experience of Active Directory experience and Windows Server Local Group Policies.
- Working knowledge of network protocols.
- Ability to create and maintain system/software diagrams/documents.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional.
- Understanding of Git and Subversion repositories.
- Understanding of IPSec site-to-site VPNs.
- Knowledge of vulnerability scanners and network intrusion prevention devices.
- Experience in evaluating solution alternatives, design, and communicating recommendations to the program team.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a related discipline, with 8+ years of prior relevant professional experience, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
