About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team at Klingner & Associates, P.C. as a Municipal and Industrial Infrastructure Specialist. As a key member of our Water/Wastewater Department, you will be responsible for leading water and wastewater infrastructure projects, managing timelines, budgets, and overall quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Lead water and wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Design and Development: Develop and review designs, plans, specifications, permitting, and final construction documents for water distribution systems, pumping stations, sewer collection systems, lift stations, storm water systems, and water/wastewater treatment plants.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide specialized technical input, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling, and evaluations to support reporting and design.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable Local, State, and Federal regulations concerning water quality, water treatment, public health, and environmental protection.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal and industrial clients, stakeholders, funding agencies, and regulatory bodies.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, technicians, and contractors to complete projects.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with industry design trends, technological advancements, and professional organizations to provide forward-thinking solutions.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or closely-related engineering field from an accredited university, at minimum. A Master of Science degree is desirable.
  • Experience: 10+ years of demonstrated experience in municipal engineering and/or water/wastewater engineering is most desired.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Must hold a Professional Engineer license in Missouri, or can obtain within three months. Current Professional Engineer licensing in Illinois and Iowa is also desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent working knowledge of Civil3D, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word. An understanding of WaterCAD, WaterGEMS, and Revit is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent time management skills, organizational skills, ability to manage multiple complex projects and tasks concurrently, and a commitment to meeting deadlines and keeping projects within budget.
