Accounting Clerk Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team at The GEO Group, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing standard and routine accounting duties, including processing accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, inventory control, and general office management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process all business office responsibilities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, inventory control, and general office management.
  • Assist with preparing and tracking monthly and annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Maintain payment card (P-Card) system transactions.
  • Communicate with regional and facility staff regarding the appropriateness of purchases and the proper allocation of expenses.
  • Update and maintain current billing files to ensure accurate records are maintained.
  • Prepare and submit daily activity reports/count sheets to contracting agencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) years bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Familiarity with general accounting principles, fiscal budget control procedures, and computerized accounting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Proficient with computers and necessary software used by the facility.
