Maintenance Planner Scheduler Job Description

At Smithfield Foods, we're seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner Scheduler to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance work control processes to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Assign work control plans to supervisors for execution by hourly maintenance staff, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Provide technical guidance on improving maintenance activities and supervise both hourly employees and contractors as needed.
  • Manage the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) at the plant level, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Administer the facility's Process Safety Management regulation, ensuring compliance with 29 CFR 1910.119.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in supervising day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance, strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer skills, Internet, and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Project management software experience and knowledge of the CMMS system, preferred.
