Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of tasks and projects.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and programs to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of properties.
  • Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify and address any maintenance issues or concerns.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as leasing and property management, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, responding to maintenance requests and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve maintenance operations and services.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g. facilities management, construction management) preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in maintenance or facilities management, with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other maintenance systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and resident satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational or technical training in a related field (e.g. HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
  • Certifications in areas such as asbestos, lead-based paint, or REAC/NSPIRE inspection.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
