We collaborate with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and operators across various sectors, including commercial, regional, business, and military aviation, to deliver innovative solutions that address complex challenges.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented Senior Electronics Packaging Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role involves critical mechanical design and development tasks related to the packaging of electronic circuits. You will engage in assembly design, analysis, testing, and support for the introduction of manufacturing processes for both new and existing electronic design initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include identifying and addressing potential failure mechanisms associated with materials, interconnects, and environmental stresses to ensure the creation of reliable designs. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, including Systems, Electrical, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Configuration Management, to secure design and release approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize 3D CAD Design Software (NX) to conduct mechanical design of electronic systems, focusing on optimizing packaging density, material compatibility, thermal performance, structural integrity, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Analyze potential failure mechanisms linked to materials, interconnects, and environmental conditions to enhance design reliability.
  • Perform various analyses, including vibration, temperature, mechanical tolerances, and lifecycle assessments.
  • Establish a collaborative relationship with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure that production designs are feasible.
  • Create and modify models and technical drawings.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, along with a minimum of 8 years of experience in electronics packaging design for avionics equipment. Additionally, candidates should have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in 3D CAD modeling, preferably using Siemens NX.
  • A solid understanding of ASME Y14.5 and GD&T principles.
  • Familiarity with hardware qualification standards such as DO-160 and MIL-STD-810.
  • Experience in designing for manufacturability of low to medium volume products.
  • Knowledge of FEA tools (Ansys / IcePAK / Flowtherm).
  • Insight into electronic interconnect and component failure mechanisms and mitigation strategies.
  • Understanding of mechanical failure analysis in electronic systems.
  • Preferred experience with PDM systems (TeamCenter / Omnify / Windchill).

Desired Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook) is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective communication skills and a strong collaborative spirit, along with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position are representative of those encountered while performing essential job functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions. Regular activities include sitting, talking, and hearing, as well as frequent standing, walking, and using hands to manipulate objects or controls. Commitment to Safety:
All employees are responsible for their own health, safety, and welfare, as well as that of the environment and others. Compliance with EHS policies and training is mandatory, and employees are expected to maintain a safe working environment and report any incidents or unsafe conditions.

Core Values:
At Triumph Group, we uphold our core values of Integrity, Teamwork, Continuous Improvement, Innovation, and Acting with Velocity in all our endeavors.
