Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Design Engineer to join our team at Triumph Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative power electronics solutions for aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute projects, ensuring timely delivery and meeting project deadlines.
  • Develop and allocate requirements, ensuring compliance with internal processes and standards.
  • Design and develop power electronics systems, including block diagrams, system and circuit topologies, and preliminary and detailed analyses or simulations.
  • Ensure overall compliance to Triumph Group's internal processes, including NPI, Standard Work, and Design Reviews.
  • Meet or exceed design-to-cost and design-to-weight targets.
  • Support internal and external customer meetings, design assurance, and qualification testing.
  • Support the transition of programs from development to production.
Requirements
  • MSEE with coursework in power electronics, motors, and motor drive technology.
  • Greater than 4 years of relevant aerospace-avionics design experience preferred.
  • Greater than 2 years of direct experience in power electronics and control system design.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Desired Skills
  • Simulation tools (LTSpice, SABER, PLEX, System Vision, MathWorks/Simulink).
  • Analysis tools (Mathcad, MS Excel, Minitab, Matlab).
  • CAD tools (Mentor Graphics suite: PADS, Hyperlynx, DxDesigner).
  • Documentation tools (MS Word/PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe, Nuance).
  • Requirements and configuration management (Teamcenter, DOORs).
  • H/W programming languages (Labview, Visual Basic, eTPU micro-code).
  • FPGA/PLD devices (from Actel, Xilinx, Altera).
