Job Summary

The University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Department of Radiology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Imaging Technologist or Imaging Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our radiology team, you will be responsible for performing and teaching specialized imaging procedures, utilizing complex imaging equipment and close patient monitoring during exams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and teach specialized imaging procedures utilizing MRI imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam.
  • Perform MRI procedures using a variety of complex imaging and patient monitoring equipment.
  • Apply MRI safety precautions to minimize or eliminate risks to patients, personnel, and equipment.
  • Establish rapport with patients and provide information about the exam process and requirements.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
Requirements
  • Senior Imaging Technologist: Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or other Allied Health Sciences discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Senior Imaging Technologist: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Imaging Technologist: Successful completion of a two-year or other approved program by the Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Technology Education.
Certifications
  • Current certification or eligibility for certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current Permit to Practice issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health for all radiographers operating ionizing radiation emitting equipment.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Recent work or clinical education experience in MRI.
  • MRI modality training.
  • MRI certification or eligible.
  • Work or clinical education experience in a Level 1 trauma center.
