The University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Radiology Department is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Senior Imaging Technologist to join their team. As a key member of the department, you will be responsible for performing and teaching specialized MRI and research procedures, utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exams.

Duties Include:

  • Perform and teach specialized imaging procedures utilizing MRI imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam.
  • Perform MRI procedures using a variety of complex imaging and patient monitoring equipment.
  • Has knowledge of and applies MRI safety precautions to minimize or eliminate risks to patients, personnel, and equipment.
  • Has knowledge and understanding of key Service Excellence principles for interaction with patients and staff.

Establish rapport with patient and provide information about how the exam is performed and what is required of the patient.

Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public.

The new University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Campus will open in the Spring of 2025, featuring a 469,000 square foot facility with state-of-the-art clinical facilities, including a full-service community imaging center, laboratory services, physical therapy, retail pharmacy, and emergency department.

Experience Requirements

Senior Imaging Technologist:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or other Allied Health Sciences discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Imaging Technologist:

  • Requires Successful completion of two-year or other approved program by Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Technology Education is required.

Certification Requirements (Senior Imaging Technologist and Imaging Technologist)

Current certification or eligibility for certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.

Current Permit to Practice issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health for all radiographers operating ionizing radiation emitting equipment is required.

Desirable Qualifications (Senior Imaging Technologist and Imaging Technologist)

Recent work or clinical education experience in MRI.

MRI modality training.

MRI certification or eligible.

Work or clinical education experience in a Level 1 trauma center.
