Cardiology/Cardiac Surgery Technician

Colorado State University is seeking a skilled Cardiology/Cardiac Surgery Technician to join our elite Cardiology/Cardiac Surgery Unit. In this advanced role, you'll work alongside leading cardiologists, assist in complex cardiac procedures, and provide top-tier care to our animal patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide optimal patient care, including assessments, monitoring, treatments, and nursing care for cardiology patients and patients from other services.
  • Collaborate with students, interns, residents, fellows, and clinicians to diagnose and treat patients.
  • Assist in diagnostic work-ups, handle and restrain patients, and facilitate scheduling of radiographic procedures, fluoroscopy requests, and surgical equipment requests.
  • Discharge day cases and overnight patients, including completion of billing forms, writing dismissal instructions, and confirming the accuracy and submission of prescriptions.

Requirements:

  • An associate's degree from an accredited college or university in veterinary/animal health technology and two years of experience assisting in animal surgery, administering anesthesia to animals, and/or performing veterinary procedures.
  • Registered Veterinary Technician through the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
  • Organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment, case coordination experience, and familiarity and interest in cardiovascular disease and therapy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of veterinary experience in a specialty practice or academics.
